The webpage compiles historical zoning records of Hanover and Henrico Counties. For Hanover County, the archive includes zoning ordinances introduced between 1999 and 2010, districts repealed during this period, formal responses from the Board of Supervisors and other county actors to the proposed amendments, public-hearing transcripts, and sources used by the County to define housing types. Records were provided by Hanover County’s Planning Commission.

For Henrico County, the archive includes all formal ordinances and amendments enacted since zoning’s implementation in 1933 (excluding the current ordinance which is available through Henrico County’s online public data portal). Henrico’s ordinances were supplied in digital format by a member of the Henrico County Board of Zoning Appeals.
